Design Energy Simulation for Architects:Guide to 3D Graphics Kjell Anderson
An exhibition is an organized presentation and display of a selection of items which usually occur within museums, galleries and exhibition halls. Exhibitions may range from an extraordinarily large event such as a World´s Fair exposition to small one-artist solo shows. Architects, exhibition designers, graphic designers and other designers are usually needed to shape the exhibition space and give form to the editorial content. Exhibition Art collects over 60 worlds´ most creative exhibition design including fascinating space design and sophisticated graphic design. It will surely serve as a significant guidebook for exhibition designers, graphic designers, curators and event organizers.
Redefining cool for a new generation, Pharrell Williams is a creative force, using music, fashion, and design to express his distinctive style. Originating at the crossroads of art, design, popular culture, and street savvy, Pharrell Williams´s output is unique. By playing off different disciplines-namely music, fashion, street art, and design-and using each as an element in the other, Pharrell has redefined the role of the contemporary recording artist, blazing a trail for other musicians and prominent cultural figures. Illustrated with lavish photography, this book also explores his musical career in depth, charting his many projects from his production team The Neptunes, to the band N.E.R.D., and his collaborations with friends Kanye West, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, and other hip-hop royalty. This unprecedented volume documents Pharrell´s prolific body of work and his contribution to contemporary culture. In his own unique graphic language, he details his extensive creative pursuits, including clothing lines, jewelry, and accessories designs for Louis Vuitton, furniture and other product design, limited-edition toys, graphic designs, skate graphics, and collaborations with Moncler, Marc Jacobs, the artist KAWS, and with architects Zaha Hadid and Masamichi Katayama/Wonderwall. The book includes ontributions from Buzz Aldrin, Toby Feltwell, Zaha Hadid, Shae Haley, Chad Hugo, Jay-Z, Masamichi Katayama, Ambra Medda, Takashi Murakami, NIGO ®, Loïc Villepontoux, Kanye West, Anna Wintour, Hans Zimmer, Ian Luna and Lauren A. Gould. This book was originally published with three different colored covers and a year later, reprinted with a new set of three colors. Customers will be shipped any of the six different colors at random.
The #1 WPF Book--Now Updated for WPF 4.5! Thorough, authoritative coverage, practical examples, clear writing, and full-color presentation make this one of the most widely acclaimed programming books of the last decade. Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) is the recommended technology for creating modern Windows desktop apps. Whether you want to develop traditional user interfaces or integrate 3D graphics, audio/video, animation, dynamic skinning, touch, rich document support, speech recognition, or more, WPF enables you to do so in a seamless, resolution-independent manner that scales from small tablets to large TVs. WPF 4.5 Unleashed is the authoritative book that covers it all, in a practical and approachable fashion, authored by WPF guru and Microsoft architect Adam Nathan. Covers everything you need to know about Extensible Application Markup Language (XAML) Examines the WPF feature areas in incredible depth: controls, layout, resources, data binding, styling, graphics, animation, and more Delves into topics that aren´t covered by most books: 3D, speech, audio/video, documents, effects Shows how to create popular UI elements and leverage built-in controls such as the new Office-style Ribbon Demonstrates how to create sophisticated UI mechanisms, such as Visual Studio-like collapsible/dockable panes Explains how to create first-class custom controls for WPF Demonstrates how to create hybrid WPF software that leverages Windows Forms, DirectX, ActiveX, or other non-WPF technologies Explains how to exploit desktop features, such as Jump Lists and taskbar customizations, and the same toast notifications used by Windows Store apps
The second, revised edition of this book covers all aspects of non-uniform rational B-splines necessary to design geometry in a computer-aided environment. Basic B-spline features, curve and surface algorithms, and state-of-the-art geometry tools are all discussed. Detailed code for design algorithms and computational tricks are covered, too, in a lucid, easy-to-understand style, with a minimum of mathematics and using numerous worked examples. The book is a must for students, researchers, and implementors whose work involves the use of splines. Until recently B-spline curves and surfaces (NURBS) were principally of interest to the computer aided design community, where they have become the standard for curve and surface description. Today we are seeing expanded use of NURBS in modeling objects for the visual arts, including the film and entertainment industries, art, and sculpture. NURBS are now also being used for modeling scenes for virtual reality applications. These applications are expected to increase. Consequently, it is quite appropriate for The.N´URBS Book to be part of the Monographs in Visual Communication Series. B-spline curves and surfaces have been an enduring element throughout my pro fessional life. The first edition of Mathematical Elements for Computer Graphics, published in 1972, was the first computer aided design/interactive computer graph ics textbook to contain material on B-splines. That material was obtained through the good graces of Bill Gordon and Louie Knapp while they were at Syracuse University. A paper of mine, presented during the Summer of 1977 at a Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers meeting on computer aided ship surface design, was arguably the first to examine the use of B-spline curves for ship design. For many, B-splines, rational B-splines, and NURBS have been a bit mysterious.
Katlyn Winters’ life changed the instant her husband was killed by a drunk driver. Now, a year later, she can’t put off returning to the workforce any longer. When she joins the architectural team at Bridgeport Graphics, Chicago’s number-one design-to-build firm, she’s able to pretend she’s not alone in the world by keeping a picture of her husband and beautiful little girl on her desk. But as she climbs the corporate ladder, it becomes difficult to explain why her husband isn’t around to support her career, all while her feelings for her boss turn into something more than what’s allowed. Billionaire Landon Bridgeport is impressed by Katlyn Winters’ work ethic and design skills. Even though she’s been out of the workforce for five years, he takes a chance and hires her on the spot. As she quickly rises in the ranks, winning more bids than any other architect in the firm, she also unwittingly weaves her way into his heart. The only problem is she’s off limits. A picture on her desk of a beautiful family keeps her at arm’s length. As Landon forces himself out of the office to work on his social life, Katie’s interaction with a male coworker in the office doesn’t add up. He feels compelled to keep her marriage safe while juggling a new relationship and a threatening lawsuit from a disgruntled ex-employee. Something must give as he slowly unravels the truth about Katie - and his love for her that he can no longer deny. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Veronica Giguere.
